These slides document a revolution in the way paleontological field work was conducted at one of the world's most significant fossil localities. The new techniques employed, including detailed documentation of fossil position and preservation of all associated microfossil material, have allowed scientists ever since an insight into the past ecosystems of one of the continent's most urbanized areas, and an ability to plan for its future.
